{Sunshine after the Rain } Cardosa Family

It was a clear summer night, ideal for a stroll in the park or better yet family photos. The Cardosa family was scheduled for a session at Caledonia Lakeside Park. Our goal was to complete milestone photos, a few family shots & lastly maternity photos. Even Gizmo their adorable dog was taking part in our shoot!

Everything was going as planned when we arrived and started our session. And just like that the sky opened up and rain began to fall. After taking coverage under a nearby tree we quickly realized there was no relief in sight. Damp & soggy we were forced to decide our next step. The truth is calling off a shoot is a difficult task. I realize the work it takes for anyone to prepare for a session. More importantly how tedious it can be preparing small children. It was a hard decision, but together we decided we would reschedule for a later date.

I packed up my gear and wiped the water from my equipment. Just minutes down the road the sky cleared and the sun peaked out from behind the clouds. I reacted quickly hoping to squeeze out a bit more from our time. Calling ahead I suggested we pull off at an old historical school building. The timing was perfect & just like that we were able to salvage a bit more time together.

Ultimately, the Cardosa family & I met again at a later date to finish our session. The truth is sometimes mother nature does not cooperate, but there is always sunshine after the rain!
