{40} Cake Smash

40 & FABULOUS | In fall of 2018 while capturing her son's senior pictures Jamie mentioned the idea a portrait session to celebrate a milestone, her 40th birthday. Fast forward six months later when I opened my email to find a shopping list assembled of items for our shoot. Nestled in her Amazon shopping cart was a wide array of coordinates from sassy to glamorous. I guess it goes without saying how excited I was to work on this amazing project.

What I loved most about the whole idea was that Jamie had invested time in celebrating herself. From the well planned out wardrobe to the vision she had for our shoot, it was about feeling beautiful and celebrating life. Often times as mother's we are so caught up in the day-to-day squeezing even a wee bit of time for self care is unheard of.

It left me thinking, what if we all took a little bit more time to celebrate life, milestones & ourselves?
